Our Team

Marie Obegi
Founder & Director

Born and raised in Paris with Lebanese heritage, Marie is a professional artist working across painting, drawing, and print-making. Her figurative practice explores the psychological and relational dimensions of self, identity, and interaction. She creates rhythmic series where form is built from suggesting memory, experience and emotion as much as it is from the figure itself.

She has organised large-scale art events such as Art for Lebanon - an exhibition and auction in partnership with Choose Love - and has led creative workshops for corporate clients including BIC.

Marie holds a BFA from Parsons, The New School for Design and an MA in Liberal Studies from The New School for Social Research. After living in New York, Buenos Aires and Kyoto, she founded Maison Pan in 2023 to create an international community and to support fellow artists. She spends part of her year in Beirut, where she has a studio and runs Maison Pan’s residency programme.

Cyrus Mahboubian
Co-Director

Born and raised in London with Iranian heritage, Cyrus is a professional artist known for his contemplative approach to photography and continued use of analogue materials. His practice explores the human experience in a world increasingly dependent on digital technology, and how this is changing our relationship both to nature and to time.

His work has been exhibited extensively since 2010. Highlights include PHotoESPAÑA festival, Madrid; Photo London at Somerset House; The Photographers' Gallery, London; Pitt Rivers Museum, University of Oxford; and Fotografia Europea festival, Italy. He has given talks and led workshops at prestigious venues including Tate Britain and The Photographers' Gallery in London.

Cyrus holds a BA in History of Art from the University of Bristol, and has worked with organisations including Christie’s; Polaroid; Soho House; Sotheby’s; and Unicef.

Residency Programme

Maison Pan was established in May 2023 in the heart of Beirut, a city known for its vibrant culture and rich artistic heritage. Pictured below, our space in Beirut exists as a beacon for artists seeking community and collaboration, a place where we aim to nurture creativity. Residents are provided with accommodation and studio space, and the opportunity to foster new connections via open studio events, talks, and dinners that we host in the space.

Maison Pan also hosts nomadic residencies, such as ‘70/74 Arles’ in the South of France, taking place from February to April 2026.

Meet Maison Pan’s artists-in-residence.

NB. Our residency programme is currently by invitation, however please contact us with a project proposal if you would like to be considered.
